Popular Anime Studio Bones (株式会社 ボンズ) is set to release a new storyline from their original Eureka Seven series. The latest addition to their mecha-based stories is Eureka Seven: AO (Astral Ocean), which is scheduled to first run in MBS on April 12, 2012. This new series will be adapted into both manga and animated series.

The AO plot tells about the tale of Ao Fukai, a 13 year old lad setting his “destiny in motion when he held power.” He lives on Iwado Island in Okinawa along with an elderly doctor named Toshio. Ao’s mother was taken away a decade ago, and his father’s location was still untraced. He has a childhood friend, Naru Arata, who can be physically described as frail and feeble. However, Naru earns a certain ability which may be caused by an accident when she was very young. Their peaceful life was suddenly turned upside down when an enigmatic creature called Secret appears before them and launches an attack on the Scub Coral beings, which existed in Ao’s island. In order to protect his place and his people, Ao Fukai by fate, launches a military mecha called a Nirvash on a military transport, fighting against these invaders who sought to kill them all.

Celebrating the new project, a theatrical run of the anime is set to be played, labeled as Eureka Seven – good night, sleep tight, young lovers. Intensifying the launch, the new series premieres with the launch of an innovative digital over the air TV system called NOTTV on April. Along with the series, a game adaptation is set to be released.

Studio Bones is known to have produced numerous action packed series, including the titles RahXephon, Soul Eater and Darker than Black. It has also collaborated with other studios to create adaptations of popular animes, such as Fullmetal Alchemist (manga) and Star Driver.
