Trailer Released for Highschool Horror Another Live Action Movie

Yukito Ayatsuji’s high school horror novel Another gets a debut in live action form. The official website for this film’s project has recently began streaming the feature trailer—a ghastly, mysterious plot which envelops the plot of a high school class. The novel, which first hit the stores in 2009, has been redone into various medium. In 2010, it has been developed into a manga, and recently, the plot has been developed into a full length animation series which has hit Japan by storm. This new project however, creates an exciting anticipation for the story’s fans and horror lovers alike.

Set to be launched this August, the movie is directed by no less than Takeshi Furusawa, director of Ghost Train.… Keep Reading

Yu Yu Hakusho (幽☆遊☆白書) has made its mark forever in the childhood of every 90′s otaku and remembering the adventures of Yusuke Urameshi brings a strong wave of nostalgia to every YYH fan.

Japanese Toy Company Kotobukiya has announced that a 1/8 scale figure of Spirit Detective Yusuke Urameshi will be released on October 2012 in North America. The Yusuke figure is part of the Yu Yu Hakusho ARTFX Series. Kotobukiya has previously released Hiei and Kurama under the said series.

Yu Yu Hakusho, literally translated as “Poltergeist Report” is a classic anime that first began as a manga created by Yoshihiro Togashi.… Keep Reading

Exit Tunes Unleashes a New Vocaloid Character

Watch out, Hatsune Miku Fans! The music studio Exit Tunes had just unveiled the newest part of the vocaloid family. In celebrating its 10^th anniversary, the label held an event in Saitama on May 6 and has released a teaser website for the new character which they named Mayu.

The new character possesses grace and mystery, with her light colored locks and deep-red gothic Lolita appeal. Her mid-length skirt boasts of a piano keyboard, indicating her musical passion. Mayu’s overall character greatly describes the music which she is about to sing. Hidari, an illustrator, created the character design which highlights the personality of a “Yandere.” In local terms, a Yandere is a person who seems gentle at the first glance, but is in truth, mentally unstable and more often violent.… Keep Reading

Second Installment of Rurouni Kenshin: Shin Kyoto-Hen to be Shown in June

The next half of animated movie Rurouni Kenshin: Shin Kyoto Hen, is scheduled to hit the local Japanese theaters on June 23. This will be available for three weeks where fans of the Nobuhiro Watsuki Original manga will be able to catch a glimpse of the epic battle between the Battousai and Makoto Shishio once again. The story, which was retold from the eyes of Misao Makimachi, proceeds to an alternate narrative of the Kyoto Hen chronicles of Kenshin Himura in his fight against the rebels who plots to take over the country.

The first half of the movie has been dubbed as Homura no Ori (Cage of Flames), which title was selected from more than a thousand entries.… Keep Reading

On December 2011, an announcement was made that Rurouni Kenshin will appear in mangas once again in May 2012. May has already arrived and the red-haired samurai has returned to Jump Square, along with other great manga titles Blue Exorcist, D-Gray Man and Claymore.

The latest Rurouni Kenshin manga is, however, not a continuation of the original manga. Aptly named Rurouni Kenshin – Cinema Version -, the latest Rurouni Kenshin manga is rather a retelling of the live-action version movie starred by Takeru Satou.
